Golf Buggies On Collision Course

Six golf buggies have caused a rift in the tiny car-less community of Dangar Island with allegations of tyre-slashing in the dead of night.
There has been an agreement on the island, a 15-minute ferry ride from Brooklyn in Sydney's far north, not to have privately-owned vehicles.
But the golf buggies are tearing the community apart.
A recent survey of residents showed 89 per cent wanted to retain the pedestrian character of the island that has one council-owned ute to transport the elderly and disabled.
In recent weeks however, the issue has turned nasty with some buggy drivers complaining of slashed tyres.
